This trail follows the course of the ancient Golden Road that was believed to have been used by Irish traders. The trail provides stunning and majestic vistas, but can be quite windy. The trail is often boggy in a number of places, even in the summer. The route takes in a number of prehistoric monuments - their locations are shown on the OS map.
