Pontsticill Loop is a 6.2 mile loop trail located near Merthyr Tydfil, Merthyr Tydfil, Wales that features a lake and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and bird watching.
Note: The bridge may be closed depending on weather conditions however majority of the trail is accessible. Please check with the park page for more information.
August 29, 2020Such a stunning route, thoroughly enjoyed it. The bridge is closed (due to rotten wood according to a local), you can however cross two smaller streams about 15 meters past the bridge. You do have to be carefull since you have to step over a few stones and a small log, but we found it quite do-able.
July 22, 2020Really disappointing as the bridge was closed so we did not get to see the lake side and had to go back the same way we came. And no warning about the bridge being closed
March 14, 2020Great walk , bridge is out but you can take detour through the woods lest of bridge . Some people have climbed the fences by bridge. Worth the hassle walk is stunning

First to ReviewEnjoyed a peaceful walk on the route. unfortunately the footbridge was out of use due to recent weather so had no choice but to return the same way. a little disappointed that there was no notice of closure.
