Take a steep climb up Craig ddu ridge, follow the ridge up to corn du, pen y fan then down Jacobs ladder. You will then have two more climbs-up to the top of the crybin then fan y big. Good views all around can be very wet under-foot so good walking boots advised. This is quite a strenuous walk so take both water and some food with you. For a different variation of this route, which includes Bwlch y Ddwyallt: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/wales/powys/brecon-beacons-4-peak-treker-trail

HikingGreat!

Great walk plenty of amazing views. I did it on a day when the cloud and rain rolled in just as we were hitting the peaks. But still very enjoyable and once you start to get away from Pen y Fan the numbers of walkers is much less

What a route, absolutely stunning. Not for the faint hearted, it is a hell of a trek with lots of steep inclines. But totally worth it - views are outstanding. Took us 5 hours rather than the 6 mentioned. Best walk I’ve done in forever.

HikingGreat!No shade

Brilliant trail, plenty hard enough and gets your lungs going at times (especially the climb up to the first ridge as well as heading up to Cribyn) you can easily add on more if you're brave and do Bwlch y Ddyalit before coming back on yourself or even bail out earlier and come down before having to tackle Fan y Big (though you'd be cheating yourself of yet another fantastic view).

I really enjoyed this walk. I’m not sure how accurate the map is but you take a steep climb up Craig ddu ridge, follow the ridge up to corn du, pen y fan then down Jacobs ladder. You will then have two more climbs-up to the top of the crybin then fan y big.
