Lovely little walk this morning. A little shorter than I would have liked, but a great way to get started-with the bonus ice cream from the cafe at the end! I would recommend going early at a weekend though as the car park was pretty full when I left! Would go again :)

YES: - easy to find a parking space (big car par at Wepre Park) - dog friendly walk (with shadow and river) - nice castle at the end of path + many side paths into forrest and open meadow NO: - it could be a really busy over the weekends and during a summer - when it's wet you better get yourself a pair of wellies - bit short POSSIBLE RETURN: - YES - popular place, with big cafe, playground for kids, open grass fields and many quiet places to relax

Easy walk, good fun for kids & even walked from the park to castle in the stream, so take some water shoes & a towel! Theres an actual well laid out path too, ok for prams so far around but to get to the castle the pram may need a second pair of hands! If its warm day, its mostly shaded my trees so is cool on the trail! Car parks free (ch5 4JR) & theres a cafe & an asda/mcdonalds just down the road if need be.

Nice easy family walk to the castle. Kids enjoy playing amongst the ruins. Usually reasonably busy, but very quiet in the evening. Carry on off track past the castle and follow along the river to reach "the devil's basin" . A picturesque basin follows a slightly more challenging walk off track. Especially in wet conditions.

A great walk with the dog, very busy however it was a bank holiday. Everyone you meet is friendly and it’s a great dog walking area.

A great, easy stroll with plenty of nature and beauty along the way. I took my dogs and they really enjoyed it. The only thing I would say is it was reasonably busy as it was a Saturday. Most people had kids, which shows it’s a great walk for all the family, but maybe best to pick somewhere else if you’re hoping for more of a challenge. Beautiful waterfall, rivers and bridges to navigate along the trail, through the woods, before reaching the ruins of the old castle. A fab little walk.

Good paths throughout, usually great conditions but can get muddy when wet. Fine for pushchairs not so good for wheelchairs.
