A trip around the Penycloddiau hill fort and Moel Arthur hill fort. Nice quiet walk with lots of places to get out of the wind. Great for dogs but can be very boggy.

Absolutely beautiful walk - not too strenuous but rewarded with stunning panoramic views and a variety of landscapes. Fairly windy so bring layers! Possibly the best walk we have ever done.

HikingGreat!

Parking after 10 am became difficult as people fought for places so go early or after 4pm on busier days. (Aug BH Sun ‘20) but once on the trail it was very quiet with stunning 360 views the entire way which was so lovely! Great for dogs as we didn’t come across any livestock and the second half was down a fenced off path. Could be boggy and wet in places after rain but would be fine in trainers if it’s been dry. This was our first visit and we can’t believe we haven’t been before. Lovely lovely place.

Walking

Loved this walk. Stunning views. Mainly wide paths but some overgrown narrow muddy paths towards the middle. Also, you need to go through fields with sheep and cows in. The last half of this walk is quite challenging. We used the map on this app all the way around as it was very easy to go off course.

Nice circular walk with some great views across Northern Wales. very quiet, only met a handful of people along the route. currently very dry (july 20) and easy to navigate. Definitely a moderate hike with a few decent ascents. best sections are along hill tops/offas dyke trail. Some sections north of start/finish car park have been made 1 way on account of covid/distancing. also worth noting- the drive in from mold.. last 2 miles are along a very narrow road, with few passing points. Otherwise highly recommended

HikingMuddy

Mud, steep climbs, steep descends and high winds... What's not to love! Completed the trail anti clockwise which I feel is a little harder then clockwise with a greater portion of the trail being up hill slogs. Especially in the muddier sections. Fantastic views along the way. Would definatly recommend.
