Getting There

A circular pub walk from Glasfryn in Mold, Flintshire. Glasfryn is a great Arts and Crafts pub which attracts plenty of locals and visitors and has stunning views from its sunny terrace. The walking route climbs high into the surrounding hills, passing through the beautiful Gwysaney Estate before descending into the nearby village of Soughton and on back to the pub. It's a really rewarding walk taking you through classic Welsh hillsides and valleys. There are several climbs and descents throughout and the route follows a mixture of stone tracks and grass field/woodland paths, the latter of which can get quite muddy so good waterproof boots are a must. There are a couple of sections of road walking so take care of any traffic. There are several kissing gates plus 7 stiles to negotiate and some of the stiles are enclosed with wire fencing so dogs may need a lift over. Some of the fields are likely to be holding sheep and horses so take care with dogs. Approximate time 2.5 hours.

Mold is located in Flintshire, just a few miles west of Chester along the A55. The walk starts and finishes from the Glasfryn pub on Raikes Lane. The pub has its own large car park alongside. Approximate post code CH7 6LR.

Really enjoyed this walk...took 2 hours approx ...changes in the beautiful contrast between green shady tracks - the walk between the pine trees, view into the quarry, the boggy forest and a nice country lane to finish off the walk. Loved it!

Our 1st All Trails walk which we needed to adapt a little as we were walking from home with Wales still in lockdown. We thoroughly enjoyed the walk in to the countryside. A real stress reliever. Great directions and easy to follow. Nice dry weather recently so no mud on the walk today. Some great scenery along the way and we will certainly look forward to more once we're able to travel again.

just did my first All Trails app walk, loved it. It was well described the route and easy to follow. a little muddy in places but we have just suffered two back to back storms so it's completely understandable. I'm now looking forward to years of great walking the routes. Great work All Trails

Nice walk and views along the route. Quite muddy this time of year. Only downside is that it ends by walking along roads but a great walk overall and with the added benefit of a pub at the end! The waypoints on the app were very helpful for route finding.

Good 2.5 hour walk with a nice pub at the end. Like walking through all the fields (one has bulls in) but bits of walking through housing estates wasn’t as enjoyable but would definitely do it again.
