This is a great hike if you are at the trailhead by 9AM. Start the hike on the South side because you will hAve better access to view the lake which is where the moose are. We saw 4 moose in the lake. We heard a wolf pack. 3 elk were concerned about the howling wolves and ran almost in front of us for their escape. But by 10:30 AM everything was quiet. Hiked Sept 17.

Mixed feelings about this trail. My suggestion is to do the North side combined with the Grand View Point cut off. Fairly tough but far from difficult. Then head back the way you came on the north side. There is really nothing attractive about the South side walk other than perhaps continual shade on a hot day. No views just a long walk closed in walk with nothing to see. 4 stars for the out and back option.

If you’re looking for wildlife, this isn’t the trail. Trail not well maintained, lots of downed trees you have to either climb over or scramble around - not good for someone with mobility issues. That said, views were great and it’s a pleasant walk.

Trail on north side of Two Ocean Lake more enjoyable than south side. Better views of lake and more even path. A lot of fallen trees on south side requiring going off trail (August 2019).

No lake access, but beautiful! I’ve never been in such gorgeous meadows!

Always wear long pants. The trail is narrow. The north route is far superior due to lake views although it is .2 miles longer and covered with Mosquitos. The southern route is mostly dense forest and you need to keep an eye out for bears. It has no mosquitos but no views either. I would not recommend other unless you continue to the Great Viewpoint 2 miles (round trip) at the opposite side of the lake. Total distance including viewpoint about 8.5 miles.

Aside from the bugs, B-Eautiful!!! Encountered a grizzly bear ¾ down the north side - definitely got the adrenaline going. Was one of those hikes that had all senses on alert. Wonderful. Couldn’t get any closer to nature. And beautiful views of the Tetons to go with it. Definitely arrive early...was first at the trail at 7am and 5 cars here when I returned. Enjoy!

Great trail, mostly flat but LOTS of bugs! South side of the lake has some amazing views of the lake and the Teton range. Great afternoon hike!

Great loop trail around the lake. Mostly flat with a few brief uphill moments. Plenty of wild flowers and streams. Be bear aware while hiking here, we did come across some bear droppings on the trail, which appeared recent.

Great views of the Tetons and lake for the first third of the trail going the counterclockwise way with pretty meadows and large aspen groves. A few detours were made to go around muddy spots and the second part of the trail was pretty overgrown and mosquito ridden (bring bug spray). Very few people on the trail in the mid to late afternoon. One instance running into a grizzly walking on the path which was easily scared off with loud sounds. Definitely would recommend bringing bear spray, bells, and traveling in groups. The trail took us 3 hours to complete with one short rest break and the instance with the bear.

Very pleasant. Evidence of bear- many bear tracks in about 2.5 mi into trail but didn’t see any.

The road to the parking area was closed on 5-28 when we tried today. Try reaching it from the Grand View Point trail instead.

very beautiful trail but would avoid hiking if there is any snow on the ground. trail was completely invisible by grandview point and struggled very hard to make it back towards the trail head.

Wanted to see wildlife, but the lake was pretty bare. A good hike with small ups and downs. Distances are accurate at 6.1 miles around. There ARE bears around. About 2 miles from the end of the loop (counter clockwise) we saw 2 grizzlies cross the trail from us about 50 feet away (fortunately running away from us). We never made as much noise as in our life for the rest of the loop. Coming back, about 2 miles from the trailhead we saw several cars pulled off from the road. About 200 yards away were two very large male grizzlies eating in the meadows (one on grasses and berries and one actually tearing apart some sort of carcass). Very impressive, but somewhat unsettling knowing that these were so close to the trail. This is bear country so carry your bear spray, but the hike was beautiful with the most impressive trees we had ever seen.

This is a more sparse trail, fairly steep sections but nothing too difficult. There tend to be some scrambly sections and downed trees which can be fun. Saw many elk on my hike and lots of different birds. Beautiful trail overall.

We went at 8 am and were the only ones there to start. Maybe 10 cars by the time we finished. Very beautiful! I would say easy for sure. The trail was tight due to overgrown foliage but not rocky We saw a huge bull moose about 2 miles in if you walked counter clockwise.

This trail was a great way to explore the park. The trailhead is off a dirt road making the trail less visited then others. Since we were starting in the early afternoon, we started on the north side to be able to return on the south side in the shade. Though we did not see any active wildlife (besides geese and swans) we did see numerous tracks for elk, moose, deer, bear, mountain lion, wolves, and coyote. If you can handle the hike to the top, the spur to Grand Viewpoint is well worth the effort. However it is 1.3 miles of incline, the first part which appears to be straight up, so may not be for everyone. With the trip to Grand Viewpoint, our total hike was 8.8 miles and my husband, who is not a regular hiker, was struggling for the last mile.

An easy, mostly flat hike around the lake. It's beautiful and perfect when you want a mellow, but longer walk.

Excellent for a trail run, soft forest floor, a few ups but mostly flattish... no bugs for us but it was 63 degrees. Also- it is 7 miles acc to all my devices.

Excellent anti clockwise loop. Wild flowers still stunning. Flat for most of the trip.

The meadows full of wildflowers were beautiful. There is a small off shoot trail that is about two miles out and back to a look out. It's steep in spots but definitely doable. If you don't go to the lookout this is a fairly flat trail but even with it I wouldn't rate this trail as hard. Moderate at best.

Took this trail on July 11, and the wildflowers were spectacular. Don't think I'd take it any other time of the year. Wear long pants cause the trail's overgrown in places. Also, take plenty of bug spray!

My rating is biased based on the fact we were attached by a MASSIVE swarm of mosquitos towards the end. Seriously- no amount of bug spray could have saved us. We ended up running the last mile and a half in fear for our lives. Otherwise lovely trail with unique view of Tetons :)

This is one of my favorite trails, easy, and with beautiful scenery. Great views of the lake. The day we hiked we got to see a large moose and his lady friend.

This hike was very nice! We hiked and birded. Would have been nice to be closer to the lake, but overall it was good.
