HikingGreat!

Good trail. Bugs weren’t as bad as others mentioned except at the lake. It’s a trail where you could run 3/4 of it if u wanted a nice uphill workout.

If this trail was anywhere else it would listed as moderate. But it is “easy” for the Tetons. Probably the most difficult “easy” trail around. Great trail, great little lake. Just handfuls of people, and a zillion black flies. Bring plenty of water and bug spray.

Very nice hike right off of the overpass. Like others have said there are lots of horseflies and mosquitoes but great views, lake and stream along the way.

Trail was great and the wildflowers were amazing!! The dogs loved it and we loved the lake at the end for a quick Cool down. A lot of horseflies and mosquitos.

Great trail with beautiful views (particularly on the way back). We saw ~20 people on the trail throughout our hike, but it was still fairly quiet. Our dog loved swimming at the end and the setting was idyllic. Highly recommend (just make sure you bring bug spray)!

Good hike! Flowers are beautiful and it was just the right amount of light climbing. Lake is very pretty. Pretty buggy though at noon.

We did this trail 7/23/20. We went late in the afternoon and pretty much had the trail to ourselves. Easy hike. Very pretty views.

The trail itself is beautiful, gets increasingly more challenging the closer you get to the lake, wildflowers everywhere that are just amazing. The lake is nice. Pretty busy hike, saw lots of people & lots of dogs :-) However, it is horribly buggy: horseflies, mosquitoes, you name it. You had better BATHE in bug spray before doing this hike.

Beautiful easy hike. There is parking on both sides of the road. Trail signs throughout the hike. The trail is in good shape. The area is booming with flowers. Lots of mosquitoes in the wet areas.

Nice quick hike. Gradual elevation gain so really not too hard in my opinion. Arrived at 6:30 and trailhead was almost completely empty, had the trail and lake to ourselves. Wildflowers are beautiful. Lots and lots of bugs—especially down by the lake. Saw a cute little marmot, and some moose tracks, but that was it for wildlife.

Nice short trail. Only really suffers in comparison to other trails nearby. Lake at the end is a bit of a letdown. Seems like a great dog walking trail, lots of happy dogs on the trail

Partially sunny, partially shady, so good for breaks when you need it. Definitely needed bug spray - the horseflies are out in full force. There are two streams, about a mile in and then at about 1.7 miles (right before the lake) in case you need to cool your feet or you pup needs a splash and drink. Parts of the trail are pretty dry so be careful going back down the hill or you can slip. Decent parking, a nice 4-4.5 mile RT walk.

Tougher than expected from these reviews. I would call it moderate. We started about .4 miles earlier and accidentally added about 180 feet of steep vertical rise because of it. It's a beautiful hike, but bring bug spray as the mosquitoes and horse flies are pretty thick. Dog friendly, but streams are far apart so they may need extra water.

Really beautiful lake. Easier beginning, gets more moderate closer to the lake. Lots of pretty wildflowers 7/10/20. Popular trail and lots of dogs.

Early morning is awesome. wife cleared the trail of cob webs as we were first up today. Saw a moose and marmot on the way. Starts getting busy around 9:30 am. Easy yet altitude challenging for this 59 year old man. Great morning!

Great hike. Easy to the lake, a little harder if you continue past to the ridge. Some snow but easy to walk through. Nothing to worry about getting to the ridge. Great for dogs,

Great, easy trail. Fairly crowded but we started at about 9:30am on July 4th, so the crowd wasn’t surprising. Not nearly enough people to keep you from enjoying everything. Beautiful scenery up and down.

Awesome easy trail if you’re looking for an afternoon hike that doesn’t take you all day. Great views throughout of the mountains and several creek crossings. Moderately trafficked by other hikers and families. Easy parking in a large lot directly across the hwy. On our way back, at about the halfway point we spotted a moose and her calf in a small pond. It made the entire trip worth it!

Hike 6/19. Most mud dried and snow is gone save for a few 15-25 foot patches of trail. Beautiful lake at the top.
