Planned this hike with a hop over to Island Lake, but the weather had other designs. Steady, sloping climb through lots of forest. Maybe views, maybe not - visibility went to nil after we left. We’ll return for a revisit sometime again.

Amazing hike. Tons of fish. Clear trails. Best of all, NOT ONE SINGLE MOSQUITO ( Early September)

Fantastic trail, great hike, great fishing, lots of wildlife. Mosquitos were manageable (July). There are some really nice campsites along the eastern edge of Tomahawk lake. The stream crossing just past the Christina Lakes Trail split was a little tricky. There is an unmaintained (but clear) trail up to Thumb Lake. Moderate traffic.
