DO NOT GO ON THIS TRAIL THE MORNING AFTER IT RAINS. Choose a different hike; this trail is moderately overgrown and you will get wet up to your waist if you go after it rains. We went up early in the morning; by the time we got down the sun was out and it was relatively dry. 100% recommend this hike on a dry day if you’re comfortable with a bit of bushwhacking. There were beautiful views. Wear waterproof shoes if you have them.

Very scenic trail. Lots of great views along the way. A few steep hills but not too bad. A good mix of wooded areas and open fields of wildflowers. We only went about halfway. It's busy at the beginning where it shares the trail with the ski lake trail but much less busy after.

Very pretty trail, lots of wildflowers 7/3/20. A lot of people and dogs on the main trail midday but not late afternoon or evening. Hardly anyone on the actual Phillips Canyon Trail.

Note that this app locates the trail head fine, but that none of the available trails leaving from the trail head overlap with the highlighted map on the app. We took the Ski lake trail and after a half mile or so the blue dot showing our location finally was centered on the highlighted trail on the app. Once past that minor difficulty, the hike was just beautiful. It was challenging and the surrounding scenery was spectacular.

We did this hike but went up to Phillips pass. Couldn't find that hike so I figured I add it to here. Its about 8.5 miles round trip. beautiful hike with plenty of flowers. Locals said we missed the bloom by two weeks.

Long and hard day's hike, down and back up top. Great views. Abundant wildlife and wild flowers. Stop at crystal blue pond midway to cool off your feet.
