So the trail is covered in snow...made it to the marsh overlook and had to stop (we lost the tracks we were following). Don't take the wooden walkway...it's deceptive. It takes you to a sign that says the trail is closed. The main trail is to the right, but there are some downed trees across the trail.

This trail is the most beautiful hike I have ever done in the park, and I have done several. The trail is nice and flat, you take a right at the junction at the parking lot. The trail runs along the shore of Yellowstone lake and your feet sink in the sand. Got to see several Pelicans(around 40) hence the name of the hike.
