Please refer to the park page for updates. You can instead do a short walk around Biscuit Basin. Gorgeous waterfall views rewards you after a tough hike up to the overlook, bring your water. This trail is much quieter, which is great for those avoiding the tourist throng in Biscuit Basin. Definitely take the whole loop around for the best views!

Go clockwise. Early. Have the falls to yourself.

Start counterclock wise for the water fall and continue to the whole loop for the amazing views. I started clockwise but would go opposite if I did this hike again. Once you get up the half mile incline/switchbacks it's much easier and very pleasant. My phone died towards the very end so didn't get a complete recording.

Nice hike through a geyser basin, overlook, and waterfall. It’s easy to lose the trail around the overlook. But if you follow one of the narrower paths, it will loop to the main trail eventually.

You can do this trail clockwise (falls then overlook) or counterclockwise (overlook then falls). The overlook takes you to the top of the mountain and provides a beautiful view of the basin. If the weather is good, I suggest you go to the overlook first to make sure you see the view before the whether changes. Either way you go, you will need to complete 0.5 mile of uphill and 0.5 mile of downhill switchbacks, so hiking boots and poles are highly recommended. You can alternatively just go to the falls if you want to avoid the switchbacks entirely, but the overlook view is definitely worth it.

Nice trail, but it was very smokey this morning! My favorite parts were the hot springs area at the very beginning and seeing Mystic Falls. If I could do it again, I would just take the left to the falls instead of making the whole loop - especially if short on time in the park. Saw bison right on the trail. The best of three trails in one! Enjoy the springs, fumaroles, a scenic view looking over biscuit basin, and a 70-foot waterfall. Once you get past the strenuous incline near the beginning, the trail is easy sailing.

HikingGreat!

We started with the overlook and then wound back by the waterfall, I think that’s the path I’d suggest. We really enjoyed our time on the trail! Took us 2 hours but we stopped and went off trail a bit at the top and by the falls.

It was a little rough if you take the right and side in but it’s worth the waterfalls towards the end. If you just want to see the waterfalls take a left at the beginning of the trails fork!
