8 miles hike along so strange leak and pull around Jenny lights. Very beautiful. Moderate intensity. Some would be easy because of tourists going to inspiration point

HikingGreat!

Great hike with stunning views at every turn. Can become crowded by the boat docks, but you soon get out to the peacefulness of the wilderness after the “hot spots.” Watch out for wildlife, we stumbled across 3 different bear sightings and one with a cub right next to the trail. Also saw a moose at moose ponds, definitely worth the 1/4 mile detour to go check that out!

There was a detour about half way through and it brought us from 7.7 miles to 8.5. Overall the trail was nice!

HikingMuddy

Hiked 5/28. Some areas of thick snow near the waterfall...we fell through a little bit but had no special equipment. Waterproof shoes and caution will make it happen. We saw no animals...lots of people. Bring at least two bottles of water. Baked in the sun on the north end too so pack in the sunscreen.

At first we were discouraged because the boat to get us across the lake was closed and we were detoured to hike to hidden falls and inspiration point when we had other plans to hike painted canyon. Once we got on the trail, it offered all kinds of trail heads. We stayed on track to the falls and decided to keep going all the way to String Lake. It was 5 miles from the Jenny Lake welcome center to String lake. Round trip was 10 miles which was great and what we wanted to accomplish. We saw 2 Moose and many other critters. We heard what we thought was a bear but couldn't spot him. The trail was moderate to easy. Some areas were tiring but it didn't last long enough to be categorized as difficult or too strenuous. Today is Oct 1. What a perfect time of year to come here! Air was brisk, at times we even got snowed on but it didn't stick. Enjoy!

Good hike with awesome views. Fairly long for someone from Iowa but we did it and it was great! Able to go up to inspiration point and see the waterfall so that was a great touch. Pretty crowded at some points. Would recommend starting over by string lake/Jenny lake lodge. Easier to park and less populated on that side.

Beautiful hike. One of my favorites that we did when visiting the Tetons. Started around 8am and were able to find plenty of parking at the trailhead. We mostly stayed on this trail, except took a short detour toward cascade canyon trail for a bit before descending back down toward inspiration point. This hike offered gorgeous views of the lake and surround. Even though this was listed as being moderately trafficked, we didn’t see anyone until we reached cascade canyon trail. Plenty of shade throughout the hike.

Gorgeous hike! We went all the way to Inspiration Point and saw two black bears. Rather crowded around the boat dock and further up, but almost no one was walking around the lake, so it was mostly very peaceful.

Great hike. Highly recommend. Would rate moderate if you go to both inspiration point and hidden falls you will do a bit of climbing. Adding on walking all of Jenny loop and you’ve got a good hike in. Lots of amazing views of mountains and lake. Normal rocky spots and a couple narrow steep pathways. All and all do it!

Get to this trail head EARLY! You’ll have the best chance of finding parking and seeing wildlife! We actually started this loop from the Jenny Lake Center and combined it with Moose Ponds trail loop to make it a bit longer (9-10 miles). We saw a young bull moose and a juvenile black bear! Also, the view of the falls is beautiful. This isn’t a great trail to hike IF you want to be secluded, since this is a very popular hike and it can get quite busy.

Great trail with beautiful views! Parking at string lake trailhead is easy, and there is good signage throughout the trail (Plus it’d be difficult to get lost- you just keep the lake to one side of you the entire time!) The trail was very congested with people around the hidden falls area, but the rest of the trail was only mildly trafficked. The Adler Fire area has some great birding as well as some not-at-all-skittish chipmunks and marmots!

Great hike with some views. Wasn't overly crowded the farther we went. There was definitely signs of wildlife (including bears), so be prepared and pack bear spray.

What an awesome hike. Went up to the Forks and had lunch on a perfect day: clear, sunny, mild temps. This is not just a destination hike to a waterfall or a high point. Rather, one is immersed in granduer from start to finish. From the first step off the boat, the trail leads by a roaring creek up a short distance to Hidden Falls (aptly named). Then it crosses the footbridge and begins the 300 ft climb up to Inspiration Point on a jagged trail blasted into the rock face. For the next 4 miles up to the Forks, the trail is uniformly graded and easy to walk, free of the normal clutter of rocks and roots. The crowd drops about 80% as well past the Point. After the 1st mile through forest, the trail opens up to a spectacular valley with gentle stream, cool ponds (and moose!) and the mountails rising 4,000 feet on both sides. The trail gets its name from the awesome cascades that tumble from the snow fields high on Grand Teton into the valley. Just before reaching the Forks, the trail crosses another footbridge, then climbs another 200 ft to a cool lunch spot by a lovely cascade. If you have time to do only one trail in the park, this is the one.
