I elected to not take the boat so I could get more exercise with walking to inspiration point. I was also carrying my 3 year old in her Kelty back pack. By the time I got to the view I was pretty tired.... and I can hike with the best of ‘em. My wife wanted to continue on to cascade canyon which was pretty rad. Inspiration point and the canyon was amazing. One of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. Glad for the option to take the boat back. I was totes tired. Awesome tho

Gorgeous views of Jenny Lake. Would totally recommend adding Cascade Canyon and Hidden falls while you’re here!

The must-do hike in the park. Beautiful, even on a rainy day.

The trail was beautiful and the views were amazing. Definitely more of a moderate trail but is manageable if you’re fresh off the boat.

This was a beautiful trail, however I agree with others that this was not an “easy” trail. Many people will say that this is “easy” and that is truly deceptive. This is easy-ish if you are in shape and used to hiking. Please check out the elevation gain. It is almost entirely up hill and in some places it is incredibly steep. Please wear appropriate shoes and bring water. Once the boat drops you off there are NO FACILITIES. So make sure you do all of your business before getting on the boat! Having said all of that, beautiful hike. Can be short and quick, less than an hour.

Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point are both gorgeous. That being said, this trail is NOT easy IMO. The climb to IP is VERY steep, rocky, and narrow. This trail is SUPER busy and not many people are wearing masks (probably because you’re huffing and puffing so much!). Worth the hike, but I was surprised at how difficult it was for listed as “easy”. It’s not easy. The shuttle to/from is open now.

Nice trail for the family with great views of Jenny Lake, Cascade Canyon, Teewinot, The Grand, and Mt Owen. Too crowded but that is what you have to expect for such a beautiful place that is so accessible.

So beautiful! We saw a moose, deer, and rodents! Absolutely breathtaking! The hardest part is the inspiration point, and then it flattens out.

Walked around the lake to arrive at Inspiration Point. Great views and fun elevation gain. Kid friendly, but stuck together closely on the way to the point with younger children.

Bring your best spray, we ran into 2 on the trail! Easy to combine the hike up to inspiration point with a walk around Jenny lake, and you can take the boat back if you’re too tired!

Spectacular! Lots of elevation gain to inspiration point and then it really is pretty flat all the rest of the way. I would do this hike again and I don’t normally do that!

Great hike! The trail was heavily trafficked today, but not too bad, especially past the hidden falls and inspiration point, which is where MANY people stop. There was 30 yards or so of snow just past inspiration point, but then no more for at least 4 miles. we stopped at the bridge where the two rivers merge about 4 miles past inspiration point. Didn't see any significant snow past that, but the boat driver did say it was pretty snowy about 5 miles in.

Awesome trail for as far as we made it. A few miles past the meadows and past the fork split hikers mentioned heavy snow so we stopped right before. Saw a bear with her cub from a distance and some moose. Lots of traffic up until the hidden falls. Lots of family and kids. The trail is steep but nothing children can’t handle.

Well traveled, well maintained trail. Saw a moose on the trail about a mile in and heard from many other hikers that they’ve seen moose on this trail too. You get a good view of Jenny Lake and the valley from inspiration point. Definitely one of the easier hikes in the park if you’re looking for a shorter/easier hike to do.

The boat was not running while we were there so we had to walk around the lake. It was a beautiful walk and not a hard addition. We started around 8:30 and it wasn’t very busy. We ended up going further and following cascade canyon. When we were heading back around lunch time the trail got much busier. Beautiful views at the top. I would recommend following cascade canyon past it.

Hiked Inspiration Point to Hidden Falls and back. Pretty heavily trafficked once you get closer to the shuttle, but we saw some small wildlife and overall really enjoyed ourselves. It is relatively easy and we saw plenty of kids and families. Would recommend!

It looks like the boat shuttle is starting up again, but I’d still recommend taking the trailhead from String Lake. This is a crowded trail, but it’s much less crowded on that first section from String Lake to the dock. Plus the views along the river String Lake outflow are really nice! I saw 2 moose and would definitely also recommend bear spray. I did this by myself and forgot my bear bell so I was singing to myself at least half the way. Feels like bear territory.

Beautiful lake, but busy trail. Jenny Lake boat shuttle is currently closed, so you’ll have to tack on an additional 4miles around the lake to get there. We took the upper route on the way there, which, while is a beautiful ridge, is covered in snow and treacherous in some places. I’ll also echo some other reviewers in that bear spray is a must! Heard a bear in the woods on the way back.

Great trail. It was a long hike up to inspiration point, but worth the view. Reminded me of my favorite island from Michigan on Drummond Island. Got a mix of snow, mud, water falls, rocks, and live animals. Even saw a female moose. What a view at the top!
