Independence Rock Trail is a 1.3 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near McCargar Place, Wyoming that offers scenic views and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking and walking and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

Independence Rock stands 6,028 feet above sea level. The tallest point of the rock is 136 feet above the surrounding terrain. If one were to walk around the base of this rock, the distance covered would be more than a mile. Hiking to the top is approachable from many areas. Pioneer inscriptions are found on the rock face.
