Beautiful time of year to hike this trail. We did this as part of a family reunion. Some of us hiked around the lake and some of the group took the ferry across and brought a picnic lunch to share and then hiked to hidden falls with us and then took the ferry back as we finished the loop. We had a few bugs bothering us but not to bad. We also saw a few deer two fox, and marmots. Highlight was time spent at hidden falls. The amount of water flowing was unbelievable. don’t miss it along with inspiration point. It’s worth your time. I will do this hike again. This time clockwise.

Awesome! Bring your bear spray - saw 2 grizzlies and a mama black bear and cub (sleeping 25 yds off the trail).

This was a great in/out hike. We went clockwise from the visitor center which offered some elevation hiking. We opted to add the Moose Lake loop and were able to view active moose. (Bull, two cows and a calf). When we did the loop a second time on our way back in the later afternoon, the calf was actively playing and brought a few laughs to the group. People on the trail but not as heavily traveled as we expected. The falls were spectacular and well worth the miles to get there. Don’t expect to be alone at the falls as they generate a good size crowd.

Worth the hike around Jenny Lake, we saw a moose about 100 yards off this trail (some benefit to the crowds since someone gave us there tip). Fantastic Falls!

My daughter and I hIked this area together! Took the water shuttle across Jenny Lake. Hiked to Hidden Falls then around the long part of the Jenny Lake trail. We stopped several times for her to play in the water. Trails were in good condition and easy to hike! Great day

Pretty easy, just a couple steep portions from the port. I hiked the lake counter clockwise so this was the 1st route I took up to the falls.

completed 6.2.19 Hiked to the falls as part of the Jenny Lake loop. Well worth the effort! Falls are beautiful and amazing with the amount of melting snow. Be prepared for crowds...these falls are not very 'hidden' and many people take the ferry to see them. If you are looking for solitude this is NOT the hike for you...unless you beat the ferry!

Trail is just challenging enough if you’re used to the higher elevation. Gorgeous views along the way and the option of taking the boat back across the lake if you’re tired! We had a baby with us and decided to do that. It was really nice! Still a bit snowy this time of year but nothing in unmanageable! Lots of cute marmots walking around too.

Early bird gets the worm. we visited 5-26-19 there was still a bit of snow to get to the falls at higher elevation. there were a few obstacles in the trail like fallen trees. Many puddles that were impassable without boots. the trail has great steps and draining but a few areas get really flooded without drainage. the falls are beautiful. get here early if you want a good picture. many tourists ruin the experience.

It’s beautiful here, but even at this time of year, there are enough people that I don’t properly enjoy this hike.

Beautiful waterfall!

Great trail! I hiked it in early June and the traffic was already fairly heavy but the views are worth it. If you slip the fairy ride and take the trail around the lake you will be much more likely to encounter bear and moose as I did as the moose ponds trail is connected to this trail.

There is so much nicer around - do only if you are very limited in the walking you can do.

Good hike, it was fun to take the ferry across Jenny Lake. The falls were beautiful, but the amount of people on the trails were similar to those at Glacier National Park (if you know, you know).

Great hike. My wife and I did 7 miles out an back with an 8 and 11 year old. We saw a black bear next to the trail no more than 10 yards away. The canyon is beautiful. The path is somewhat rocky. As mentioned by others the pain is in the upfront with the ascent to the canyon.

Sat Jun 16 2018

The path to Inspiration Point that connects to the CascadeCanyon trail is currently closed. The falls are spectacular!! Hike on the trail uphill from there for an amazing overlook!!

Hiked this trail with the family today. Youngest hiker turns 7 tomorrow, and he hiked it like a champ (only a little whining at the end). Beautiful view of the falls and lake. We saw 2 moose at the beginning of the hike, no bears or other wildlife. It was about 2.5 miles from trailhead to the falls.

We started at String Lake trailhead and walked Jenny Lake to Hidden Falls - round trip about 5 miles. Amazing views at the lake and the waterfall ending was breathtaking. Encountered snow but with proper shoes not an issue. Had to be careful in spots but doable. Saw Moose, Elk and plenty of Marmots. Was not too trafficked. Loved the hike ...

We took the Jenny Lake shuttle over and then walked back around the lake. The falls are beautiful but very busy. The trail back around the lake was less crowded and gorgeous with wonderful views of the lake and the valley beyond. The whole thing was about 3 miles. Fun hike!
