Whew coming back up was no joke! goal was to see hellroaring but that pond before it had some giant prints in the fresh snow that sketched me out enough to turn around, since I was alone. they were probably wolf, but MASSIVE. also saw some bear tracks frozen in the mud both before and after the suspension bridge. so they were at least a couple days old. gorgeous hike though!

Good, light traffic trail. Took older parents, hike is all down to river, then all back up, which can be challenging if you aren’t used to elevation. There is minimal shade on the switchbacks so if it’s mid summer or later, be prepared.

Backpacked to the Yellowstone River trail via Hellroaring Creek. Awesome trip. The elevation difference for me was challenging, as was the 600 ft climb out. Awesome views, plenty of wildlife to see.

Pretty good stuff out there

liked this trail, pretty challenging for my 10 and 12 year old, we went on another mile to hellroaring creek then back for a total of 4 miles. cool suspension bridge, elk, bison.

Never ending vistas, we were pleasantly surprised every turn. Worth going all the way to creek for a 4.5 mile hike. We saw a mama bear with two cubs across on the neighboring ridge.

Pretty hike. Definitely moderate to difficult in spots. Saw a mama and juvenile bear by the trailhead coming off trial.

I went down to 2H2. It was just a hike out and back. I saw nobody after crossing the Yellowstone river. Nice for whom loves quiet hike.

Nice bridges at the river, steep coming back up. Barely made it back before a thunderstorm hit that wasn't anywhere around when we started the hike.

Hiked down to 2H2. Somewhat faint trail after the Buffalo Plateau junction. The Hellroaring Bridge and its sister bridge on Blacktail Deer Creek are amazing and must see destinations. A bit steep on the way back up.
