Gros Ventre Slide: Bridger-Teton National Forest is a 12.7 mile moderately trafficked point-to-point trail located near Jackson, Wyoming that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for nature trips, birding, and scenic driving and is best used from March until October.
You can drive right down to "Slide Lake", where there's a boat launch and some picnic tables. Go from June-October, depending on the snow levels.
The drive starts the climb from the sleepy town of Kelly, with some amazing views of the Tetons. As you snake your way up the road, you follow the meander of the GrosVentre River. Fly-fishing is great up here as it's a litt further out and you can find holes to yourself...something thats hard to do around these parts.
Take the fam if they don't want to spend the day on their feet. And for those more adventurous, keep an eye out for the over-hanging rock at a big switchback...the locals use this as a diving board into a pool beneath!
