Good single track for an early morning trail run before the horseback tours start. Some dodging of horse poo and would suggest avoiding the tours later in the day. Saw a couple elk that ran off when they heard me.

Not a bad hike but nothing super special either- some nice water & mountain views- saw no wildlife other than birds despite lots of looking- trail conditions are good and signage is good. It is also a horse trail so you will be dodging that during most of the hike.

Saw bear scat but to bear. Saw deer and elk. Very enjoyable shorter moderate hike with many view points to just sit and look at. Willow and pond areas below searching for animals . We didn’t have the time today but it’s a perfect habitat for moose .

We took this trail to the Emma Matilda Lake and back. There was a good bit of snow on the ground, so it was lovely to look at. Unfortunately, the path became less maintained after a point and the trail became confusing and disappeared due to the lack of maintenance or the snow. There are no blazes, so we got a little lost and had to backtrack about a mile or so - thank you, snow tracks, for making that easy! (That’s a first for me; I never get lost, so new respect for those who have.) We did see an eagle and a beautiful male elk. The Emma Matilda was a great spot to meditate for a while, too.

You can extend it to a complete loop. It is a good warm up hike.
