We enjoyed our own pacing and a bit of wildlife along the way. I was able to put my wife in the painting by Moran at Artist's Point. Walked back on the South Rim Drive.

A few short, sharp inclines and declines. Mostly uneven pavement the whole way. Waaaaaaaay too many people. Personally prefer more intimate, smaller water falls. Nearby trails closed.

This hike got 5 stars from us because of the scenery. The views of the canyon and the falls are incredible along the trail. This is a very easy hike, the trail is blactopped between the Uncle Tom's parking area and Artist Point. Artist Point is a must see.

Great breather day walk. Wore my hiking boots but this is just more of a walk as compared to a hike. We did this trail as a rest day easy trail the day after hiking a hard eight mile trail...very easy trail, got there at 8: 00 am before most people there and views are absolutely spectacular....without the normal crush of people it was so peaceful and special...GO EARLY and park at the TH for Uncle Tom’s trail. if you are looking for one of the most beautiful places in the world to feel how small you are, marvel at the Creator, and just immerse yourself in the surreal...this one is a no-brainer! classic Yellowstone, can’t be missed. Many ages and physical abilities can enjoy this walk. Don’t forget your bug spray because you’re gonna need it!

In my opinion, this is a must-do in Yellowstone. We parked at Uncle Tom’s and arrived early enough (around 9:30) that there was plenty of parking still. The trail begins with beautiful views of waterfalls and then follows the canyon to Artist Point. Along the way there are sweeping views of the canyon so you can see everything from changing angles. The reward at the end is the incredible view at Artist Point - super, super crowded, but rightly so. With this short and easy hike you get a lot of bang for your buck and the trail itself wasn’t nearly as congested as the two overlooks at the start and finish of this trail. There are couple of steep-ish spots, but overall very doable for almost all skill levels (my five year old did this with us).

Not a physically challenging trail, but Artists Point is one of the most spectacular natural views in the United States. Absolutely gorgeous! Expect throngs of tourists parking and taking the short walk near Artists Point, but my son and I enjoyed taking the southern trail from the Upper Falls to the Lower Falls then on to Artist’s Point. Nice views from the trail of the falls and the canyon walls. Pretty easy although it might get your heart rate going a bit

Nice paved trail. Easy. Uncle Tom’s Trail and the remainder of the south rim trail are closed after the loop around the Upper Falls view 6/7/19

My favorite trail that we hiked in Yellowstone. Start at Uncle Tom's Trail parking lot and hike to Artist Point. You can make it a loop by continuing to Clear Lake.
