Loved this hike! We went around 7 and it was so peaceful and enjoyable. Not too many people on the trail when we went but plenty of mountain bikers. Not a difficult hike, more of a nature walk if you are looking for something relaxing. Tons of gorgeous wildflowers.

beautiful trail in the early morning. no bugs. if you follow the trail on the right side of the stream, and do the whole loop, it's a very gentle 5 mile hike.

HikingBugsNo shade

A few hikers (with dogs), a lot of mountain bikers. Hardly any shade on the north side of the trail, and only a bit more on the south, so be sure to bring/ wear sun protection. A lot of pretty wildflowers 7/4/20 with butterflies. Also a ton of bugs (horse flies, bees, and flies mainly) on the trail, most whiz by if you keep moving but if you stop they will land on you. Overall, an easy walk in the woods with pretty scenery. The loop is 1.9 miles if you follow the signs for Hagen trail, but it is easy to miss the signs and follow a different trail.

Perfect trail for dog walking. Off leash walking is welcome in some areas, but only advised for well trained dogs as there are many bike riders in the area and possibility of horseback riders. Poo stations up near the trailhead. Well maintained trail, mostly flat. I did it at 22 weeks pregnant. Do be warned - it isn’t a 1.9 mile loop. If you do the whole loop trail it is closer to 5 miles. You can easily create your own smaller loop as there are several bridges that cross the creek. Happy hiking

Actually, we didn’t hike, but cc skied. We were in -5 degree weather with great groomed snow conditions. We encountered a few walkers, with and without dogs, and a few other skiers. It was a very enjoyable experience. The trail’s proximity to town (very close) may make bright, more temperate days more crowded.

Easy trail. I agree with a previous review that it is more like a nature walk. Beautiful, lots of shady spots, follows along the river, great for dogs and kids!

Easy, pretty trail. First half (going clockwise) was mostly on a dirt road. Remainder was a we'll defined trail, not very rocky. Didn't see any animals but wildflowers were pretty. Trail was totally dry. Getting there -- Last 0.5 mile of drive to trail head was on dirt road, but not rugged. Parking seems to be sufficient.

I would call this more of a nature walk than a hike. Very easy, very pretty. Great for all ages, great for little kids. Plenty of shady spots to stop for break/snack. Right next to the river most of the trail. Connects to many surrounding trails. Great if you just need to get some quick steps in.

Great trail. There were many small connecting trails and I explored a few of them. It mixed things up, it was nice. Nice views. It’s just odd there is some establishment in the middle of the trail. People were getting dropped off there by horse and buggy. They made a lot of noise.
