Spent a few days in the area. Trekked 30+ miles between this and Leigh lake. Busier than expected. Found more the solitude I sought near the trail ends. Peaceful, gorgeous, but not a great view of Tetons here. Better at Leigh lake.

We hiked the whole length of this trail, but in the future I'd only hike to the end of Leigh Lake and turn around there in terms of views, as the further two hikes are smaller and don't have many views of the Tetons. But if you feel like a longer hike, why not go all the way! Once we were past everyone at Stringer Lake there were far less people on the trail. Leigh Lake has a handful of awesome backpack sites and areas to swim and get down to the water level - swimming there was by far our favorite part of our trip.

Gorgeous hike!

Solid trail with nice and decently close views of the grand teeties. At a quick pace you can complete it in 3. Saw a couple trail runners, so even less time if you're into that type of thing

A great way to get out of the business of GTNP. The Bearpaw and Trapper areas, because they are on an "out and back" trail, do not get any thru traffic. Therefore, the crowds are very light. We camped for two nights at one of the Bearpaw Lake back country campgrounds. Good backpacking trip for kids -- our youngest was 5. We swam in, and fly fished, Bearpaw Lake. We swam in Leigh Lake (North end) -- it's better than Bearpaw, because of a sandy beach near the Ranger cabin. And we hiked out to Trapper Lake. Trapper sits right in the shadow of Mt. Moran and you can hike right up the front of the mountain. Go as far as you can - it's worth it.

Definitely check in the with Rangers at the cabin/station at the N. end of Leigh Lake. They have been there a long time and are friendly and a wealth of information.

This is a beautiful trail right along the lakes a the base of the Tetons. It's relatively flat the entire way. There are a few rolling hills, but no major elevation gain. If you're looking for an easy and beautiful hike, this is it. This is the trail I recommend to visitors who aren't looking for an intense trail but want to enjoy the mountains.
