Don’t let the trail closed signs fool you! Trails that squeak to life with mud are the best! This trail is a gem, like other Kettle Moraine loops, there is varied terrain including challenging inclines! Love that burn! The recording didn’t turn out accurate but I did it all taking my time. This place had me at the pine plantations

This trail would have been great but during winter (when there is snow) only cross country skiers are allowed on the trails. Wish this was written on this website. Luckily we found a horse trail nearby to hike with the dogs instead. Will return in summer to try again.

Wide, well maintained trails. Some hills on the first half. Wear orange during the hunting season!

This trail was beautiful and easy/moderate in difficulty. Someone left loaves and slices of bread alongside many of the trail markers. Would love to know more about that if anyone has any info.

HikingFeeGreat!

Certainly well maintained, this 10-20’-wide trail gives the user more than a casual walk through the woods. I enjoyed the various 100’ hill climbs and descents interspersed along the mostly flatter 5.5 miles. Many vistas to view surrounding meadowlands, lakes and forests. It was a 2.5 hour adventure occasionally stopping to take a photo or video of extraordinary beauty to help me recall and share the enjoyment I experienced during my first time here. Perhaps because the Zillmer Trails offer options for shorter, less demanding endurance / time commitment, on a 42* and sunny mid-Saturday morning, Nov 14th, and despite there being 18 vehicles in the parking lot, I saw only one other person during my hike on this, the Yellow Loop.

Good trail, well maintained and plenty wide since it’s also a cross country skiing trail. Overall not too difficult, very flat, not much to look at, but it’s a nice walk through the woods.

Easy walk. Wide, well maintained trail. Lots of different trees and nice scenery. Parking lot was nearly full but once on the trail was not crowded at all. Will go here again.

Love it!! Gorgeous trail with different landscapes and astonishing views. The road is covered with grass and it's muddy if you are here after a rainy day like us. So it's better to put on your hiking boots. Urban shoes may not be able to handle it.

It was a delightful trail! Some muddy parts- but this is after a day full of rain and flooding watches. The scenery was nice and was fairly easy- despite my slow walking

The trail was a beautiful trail however we decided to go right after a rain storm. The rain left the trail very muddy and the mosquitoes were fierce.

Mostly wooded, a few hills, lots of wildlife. Once I got acclimated to the dive bombing deer flies, it was all good. They just bullied me, nobody ate. A good five miles! I’ll come back
