The trail was full of various trees and wildlife. Unfortunately, we arrived after a day of rain and so there were parts where the path was very muddy. There was not a lot of elevation change, so it really is great for all hiking levels. Thankfully, we had absolutely no issues with bugs. We will definitely be back!

It had just rained so we knew it would be a risk to go hiking. This trail had beautiful views of forested area and the paths were well marked. The bugs overwhelmed us and we had to turn back unfortunately, only made it 0.5 miles in. Nice wide path though.

I truly love this trail. The exterior provides easy water access to the beautiful rocky shoreline that defines Lake Michigan. Once you venture inward, the canopy thickens and you are immersed in dense forest. My favorite segment is on the southeast portion where the pines (and their smell) takes over. I’ve come here several times, and only had one bad experience. It was late June and I was honestly walking through endless swarms of noseeums and mosquitos. So avoid midsummer!!!
