The best place to start is at the driveway entrance to Ame's Point at the northern end of Millers Bay. From there take the paved walkway south along the shoreline of Lake Winnebago. It is also possible to walk on the grass nearer the waterside. If you stay on the grass near the shoreline, the paved path will move away at one point to go around a facility building. It is possible to go both ways. Continuing on the shore line, the walkway will make a huge circle around the Menominee Zoo and a large playground. The zoo is open from the first Saturday of May and through the last Saturday in September from 9.00am to 6.00pm. There is no cost for entrance and the inner circle of the zoo can be included in the hike if desired. From the zoo entry continue on the sidewalk around the outside of the zoo, cutting then across the grass to come again to the shoreline. Follow back to the parking area at Millers Bay and end with the short walk to Ame's Point and back.

I really enjoy this walk in the morning when I am in Oshkosh, love to see the sun rise and the many birds on the water. I usually walk on the grass near the shoreline. Sometimes there is a bit of goose droppings to watch out for. It is also very nice to include a walk through the zoo during the season.
