Absolutely stunning scenery in December! Well worth spending the day exploring the shoreline and listening to the waves crash upon the rocky bluffs.

Mountain bikingBugsMuddy

Great trail for fat tire bikes especially the morning after a rain when there are muddy patches. Be careful to look at the signage on the trail more so than relying on the app to guide you. A few large sections that appear as looped bike trails are actually hiking only and it is easy to get on the wrong one. It happened to me and two groups of two that I came across in these sections who had the same issues with the trail signage. If you see location maps along the trail I advise you stop and look at them to stay out of trouble. But, even if you get lost it is still a fun ride. Just be aware that if you end up on hiking trails there are collapsed sections on the far north end that will drop you in a rocky fall into Lake Michigan. Still fun though.

I saw two naked bikers have sex at site 2. Otherwise, great trail.

A nice trail with turn offs to the shore. I was disappointed because per the ratings it was supposed to be “difficult” and it very flat and easy. Does not have the elevations stated

A great backpack only state park. I checked out all the sites and hiked most of the trails. Great scenery and a constant sound of the waves on the shore. All sites are remote from each other. If you love backpacking or just hiking, this is a great way to spend the weekend or the day. Reserve early.

We did not do the whole 10.7 miles (we had a cranky 4 year old with us who was not happy to ride on her dad's back), but we probably did about 2-3 miles of the loop total. What we did was really nice, with some great views of the lake. The trail was well-marked, too.

Such amazing deep greens and rock formations. It was very quiet when we visited and we felt as if we had the park to ourselves

Nice trail with great views of Lake Michigan. I first ran these trails at age 16 while on a camping trip. Lots of shade, lots of tree roots so watch your step!
