Though only 2 miles long, this moderate to difficult loop may be challenging at times due to seasonal ice and year-long rocky conditions.

Awesome trail. Daily heavily trafficked but for a good reason. A little over 2 miles shows a little bit of everything: cliffs, trees, shoreline, hills... the trail is a little more difficult than listed. We visited the third week of October which was peak color season. Definitely recommend this trail even if you are not staying at this park.

This is a difficult trail. Lots roots, rocks, and slippery terrain. That being said, it is a very fun trail as well. A few challenging passes but great scenery. Take your time, and make sure to stop every now and then to take in the beautiful views. If you don’t, you might spend then entire trek focused on your footing and miss the beauty!

This is a difficult trail especially down by the cliffs. There’s one section in particular that appears to have collapsed/washed out and is difficult to traverse. Other sections have a lot of water and small brooks to cross, proper footgear is helpful.

Nice short hike in the Peninsula State Park. You’ll need to watch your footing on the rocks and roots. Nice views of the bay at a couple of lookout points. Mostly flat with a couple of short scrambled up.

Very nice hike. Map says it's 6 miles. The section of eagle trails along the lake is against shear cliffs and there are some stone caves to explore . good hiking shoes even if doing the shirt eagle trail

Nice quick trail. Some areas where the terrain gets a bit rugged so no flip flops.

Many rocks and roots on the trail. Sandwiched between the lake and the cliffs. Few great people rock formations.

Nice hike but is rocky and has tree roots. Go counter clockwise.

Ankle buster to be sure. Most of the trail has a lot of roots and rocks sticking out. Watch your foot placement and wear good shoes, maybe even some with good ankle support. Cool rocks and trees, lots of shade.

Fun trail. We took our 2 dogs and newborn baby on this trail. Easy walk, few switchbacks, took close to an hour with stops.

Beautiful Lake Michigan shore and cliffs trail.

Would probably disagree with the ‘easy’ designation for this trail. Would not recommend for children under 10. The rocks by the waters edge are slippery and there is one spots that needs some experience to traverse. We enjoyed the trail immensely and recommend highly. Saw deer and wild turkeys.

Slightly muddy due to rains. Low HR/physical exertion and moisture on rocks might slow your pace a bit. Some great openings to lake views and interesting rock formations.

Excellent hike. Slightly muddy. Walked in running shoes, hiking boots probably would have been better. Finding footing was somewhat challenging at times. I for one would not bring very young kids. Worth doing for sure.

Not difficult in terms of fitness level, but probably difficult for footing. I’d recommend wearing hiking boots. Most of the trail is tree roots and jagged rocks. I wore shoes. It was a challenge keeping them dry and free from mud, but I was able to. You definitely feel the rocks through a soft soles shoe, but it is only 2 miles. Saw several deer and no other hikers 5/30 at 6:30 am.

Really great trail! A lot of mud/water right now though...the trail is labeled difficult on the trail head and saw a few people struggling with all the rocks. Super fun!

Lovely, easy hike with pretty decent coastline scenery. Some of the rocky bits were a little slippery so I'd use caution if hiking in winter.

Some parts of the trail were a little more difficult, mostly an easy hike. Lots of kids and dogs on the trail. Some parts were narrow to allow people by. All in all a great trail.
