This was a beautiful trail! It had the right amount of ups and downs in the terrain and no one was there! It was cool to do a little bit of the ice age trail along the way:) Highly recommend!!

The circle trail is fun and exciting. It is filled with hills and bridges that look over beautiful scenic views of lakes. Will be hiking it again in the future.

HikingGreat!

I have done the circle loop over the years countless times in every season and camped out over nights in the camp areas. Good exercise trail also for me and my dog.

Great hike if you like water views. Trails are great for single person hiking, and are in great shape. I was pleasantly surprised by this one.

Great wooded trail with lots of small ponds and lakes along the way. Some very pretty views. Very few bugs Labor Day weekend. Quite a bit of incline and decline (my smartwatch registered 42 flights of stairs!), which is what we like to make it a bit more challenging and keep the heart rate up! The trail was very narrow, I would say at least 95% of the way we had to walk single file and at a few places the trail was literally only a foot wide, but that did not make it difficult to navigate, just not able to walk side by side. In my opinion I would rate this trail closer to moderate than its current rating of easy, based on the fact that it is nearly 5 miles of fairly constant incline and decline (some fairly steep), and the narrowness and ruggedness of the trail. Those are all positives in my opinion since we prefer at least a little challenge, but if you're looking for an "easy" trail, this might not be for you.

Good trail. I’d say it’s moderate for Wisconsin. Lots of lakes/ponds and hills. Wear bug spray. Definitely recommend and would do again.

Beautiful hike with lots of water and frequent incline/decline. A little muddy this past weekend. Due to leaving from the visitor center and a trail re-route for an underwater bridge we hiked closer to 5.5 miles.

We took on the Circle loop on 5/2/20! A beautiful trail woven through and around several lakes. We saw lots of birds, snakes, and turtles along the way. Low 70's and breezy, could not beat the weather! Minimal bugs due to it being an early year hike, I would bet bugs are terrible in the summer with a lot of standing water areas. A beautiful place to hike! -rja

October 19, 2019...Beautiful trail, (circle trail) my favorite aside from California redwoods. Water, whether lake or wetlands, abundent for most of the walk. Beautiful forests of mainly maples (October visit). Minimal incline except for two larger hills near beginning or end depending on direction. Clear signage except for crossing the highway at one point. nice map available at park office describing trail (part of extensive ice age trail) if interested. Hiked after rain in the morning so between that and the fallen leaves was muddy and slick. Important to note GPS directions if coming from the east will have you turn on private property. You will know you are at the proper entrance by large signage.

Rainy day hike, but quite pretty being surrounded by the shallow lakes. I can imagine when the trees are fully turning colors later in the fall it must be gorgeous. Bugs are definitely out.
