Fun, quick loop. Thick forest. Top of loop ends at a big pond. Deep gorges on the side!

good conditions, the area is great for a windy day because of the Protection provided by the trees and gorge

Wide trail. Lollipop configuration. Only a few muddy spots and there were social trails providing an option to walk around each soft spot. The maples are a beautiful gold now (late Oct). Beautiful time to walk this trail.

Love the beach! Hike is moderately easy, rocks down to the beach are a little steep.

Well marked! Hiked in the winter and summer. Beach was small and beautiful!

Walk itself is fine. Wide track trail leads you through a pine plantation and oak forest until you hit the river. Unless you like crowds, party boats playing loud music, jet skis, and garbage, stick to the off-season. The Jet Boat Tours even swing through here. We visited near sunset on a Sunday thinking things would have quieted down, but were wrong. Depressing to see a State Natural Area like this. Was even worse than Pewitt's Nest.

A good little walk. The steps to the beach are steep. The views are nice but the beach was overrun with pontoon boats and people.

3.5. Easy to hike except for the end. Rewarding. Would be perfect if there weren't so many people.

The trail itself was pretty mild and easy. I was able to complete it with two dogs. The steps down to the beach were a little steep but the dogs managed it well. Definitely worth the trip!

Very easy and quick walk 40 minutes round trip. Go early. The beach gets packed with boaters.

About a 20 min hike, one way. Actually got a jogging stroller about 95% of the way down trail. Last 500 feet are down steep set of stone steps. Reward is worth it. Go early. We had the place to ourselves for awhile until a pontoon boat pulled onto shore and ruined the view. Small, labeled parking lot off river road. In the morning the beach is shaded. We waded in the river for a bit. Water seemed clean. Nice sand beach with fine sand and few rocks. Entry into river is not rocky and smooth.

Easy and short hike! The beach is pretty and the water appears to be very clean so swimming is good! Would go back.
