Brule River is a 8.7 mile moderately trafficked point-to-point trail located near Lake Nebagamon, Wisconsin that features a river and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for nature trips, canoeing, and whitewater kayaking and is best used from March until October. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

to be clear, this is a river, not a trail you can walk on, and there's no footpath on the banks. the only way to hike this trail is in a canoe or kayak or in waders. that said, it's one of the most stunning paths through ancient forests you will ever know.

I’ve paddled this section many times and have experienced it both as a small child and as a skilled adult canoeist. Very pretty yet also quite popular due to the long standing canoe rental. This section is generally very slow and is intended more as a scenic trip. The lower section has ledges and class 3 and 4 rapids (mild interpretations of which except during the springtime melt) and are for more experienced paddlers.
