Sawmill Loop Trail is a 4.8 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Harrisonburg, West Virginia that offers the chance to see wildlife and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and birding and is best used from March until October.
This is a neat, fairly short hike, made interesting by the number of creeks that have to be crossed during the hike and the relative remoteness of the trail. In November, we did not see a single soul on the trail, but also very few animals. Easy to follow the yellow blaze.
