Great trail! We hiked it two days in a row in opposite directions. On the first day, two dogs came running up behind us at full speed and scared us half to death! They walked with us for a while until they heard something and went to investigate. We assumed they were dropped at the lake but we posted pics and shared on Facebook to see if anyone lost them. The second day we started at the gravel access road and it was quite a long uphill walk to start. After we got into the woods it was smooth sailing. Saw several deer along our hike.

Fun trail for an afternoon hike. If you start at the parking lot trail-head and hike the trail clockwise you climb much of the elevation gain in the first half mile. Pay attention for the trail marker (right side) at about 0.4 miles where the trail leaves the road. If you get to the antennas you have passed the turn off. Muddy conditions on the section along the lake. Trail is generally well marked Fun 3 miler!
