We went in early July and it was very green and beautiful. A lot of tall, old-growth canopies, lush undergrowth. The trail has some steep parts as well as flat, mossy clearing areas. We noticed some poison ivy by the trail so pants would be a plus. When you get out to the knob on the way out, you are rewarded with a beautiful view before heading back to the trailhead.
