Leisurely walk up hill. Could park next to Overlook but this was a nice stretch the legs final hike for the day. Views are awesome! Can see cliff side of the lodge from overlook.

HikingGreat!

Great view. I really wouldn’t consider this a hiking trail. There’s a huge parking area and you just walk a very short distance to the overlook.

I followed the route identified in All Trails and it provided some exercise. In the future I will just drive to the Overlook parking lot located at 39.113416, -79.498751. Then walk a short distance to the overlook at 39.112567, -79.500392.

Not really a big walk. Found a nice place for our lunch break. Easy for young families.

This is not a hike - at all. You park 100ft away from the overlook.

Nature trips

Not what I'd call hiking. Half along the road, the rest on a path through the park/disc golf course. nice overlook, but you could just drive to it and skip the stroll.

Rocky

Cool little overlook with a trail on the side that doesn't really lead to anywhere. It opens to a rocky slope, do not go down this!! My significant other and I decided to hike down it and had to turn around due to it becoming more and more rocky and dangerous.

Not sure what trail there was, we just walked right up to the overlook! You can even drive up. It’s gorgeous but the fence is VERY high/tall to see over. You can see the back of the Blackwater Lodge from across the river.

Would prefer in and out on the woodcock trail, as this trail makes a loop using the paved road (rather than trail).

So, the trail is not well marked at all. If there's a sign I, we never saw it. Relied on gps with the map on this app. Park at Pendleton lake, and follow, I think it's called the Woodlawn trail? When you come to the road just keep going straight on the narrow trail. You can drive to the point, but there's no fun in that. Not a hard hike.
