This trail was the first one we rode with our new bikes and did so on the way home from purchasing our new toys. Since it is close to home, we go here about once a week. It is an easy trail and is not crowded at all. There is a slight grade out of Weirton, but the ride back is all downhill. This is a great trail for anyone to enjoy. Have fun!

Took the dogs for a walk on this trail and went about a mile. The trail was clear, clean, and mowed. It is flat so not challenging that way. A couple places to watch a creek.

This is a fabulous trail! Very beautiful! Don't worry about the trailer park at the entrance it is not part of the trail. Most of the trees do not arch over the road. So by noon it is full sun for a bit.

40 Mile (round trip) Weirton, WV to Midway, PA and back via rail trail on the 93' hybrid trek bike. Trail continues nearly to Carniege, PA. The Panhandle trail crosses the Montour trail at McDonald, PA which ultimately connects with the Great Allegheny Passage.

Consistent ascent first 10-15 miles out of Weirton to Burgettstown, PA. Mostly exposed. Slight downhill to Midway through reclaimed mining areas. Great lunch/snack stop at Waldens at 1709 Main- 100 feet off trail in Burgettstown.
