Day tripped here on Sunday. Apparently there was a thunderstorm that AM before I arrived which left a misty due in the woods. This and the dripping from the tree tops gave the walk a jungle feel. The view at the end was amazing. Decided to take some the other trails connected and eventually made it back to my car. All together a beautiful day and well worth the four hour drive.

Very dog friendly, flat, and shaded. My dogs enjoyed the various squirrels that were running and hopping everywhere. Great view at the end.

Great walk in the woods with an real treat of a view at the end. About .4 mile of the trail is steep (going down to the point and back up). Go early on a week day if possible...weekends and holidays it is a quite busy. Enjoy!

This is hands down one of my favorite hikes in the area. Anytime someone from out of state comes to visit, I take them here. Having such an amazing view of the New River Gorge Bridge at the end of the hike is extremely rewarding. Easily accessible for dogs and kids as well. Make sure you go early if you don’t want a crowd.

It was a hot day but a little rain cooled us down. The trail was a slick from the rain but still pretty good conditions.

The parking lot is a decent size, but always full. Definitely a crowded hike but definitely worth the view at the end the trail is extremely muddle due to all the rain recently and the rocks are slick. be careful! at a fast pace, this trail took me only 30-40 minutes roundtrip.

Excellent day for a hike. Trail was very crowded and parking was hard to find.

Absolutely by far the best view of the bridge. Amazing! Trail is well maintained and is more like a boardwalk until you reach the last tenth of a mile. Last tenth of a mile is a moderately easy descent to the viewpoint. Highly recommended!

Super easy, relatively flat trail. It took me about 40 minutes each way. Make sure you bring bug spray because the bugs are crazy. Amazing view for the little effort!

Easy, well maintained trail until the last 5-10 minutes before you reach the overlook- but, well worth it! If the waterfall is flowing it’s stunning! You can sit on the rock and enjoy the view of the bridge and waterfall at the same time.

The view is worth every step that gets you there! The trail started off very easy and level...then weaves through the woods but still an easy hike. Towards the end it was a lot of downhill and pretty rooty, walking through a rhododendron thicket...then opening up to what is probably some of the prettiest views in the state. The hike back out was a little more challenging as the first bit is uphill...and it might be a bit much for someone not in good health. On the way in I stopped to check on a girl who had “overdone” it hiking back out.

Great trail. Good shape the whole way through. Not too difficult. And the lookout at the end is one of a kind. Also took the dog, very dog friendly trail.

This trail is well maintained and trafficked frequently. Over all the trail is easy until the end and it narrows out to the Big Finally: The View!!! My family went and played on some of the rocks as well as took our time to enjoy the sights. There were many people hiking this trail so we also moved over a lot to allow others to pass. The final view was amazing and I highly recommend hiking this trail just for that!

Great trail. Hard on the knees climbing up and down rocks at the end. The beginning is well marked and wide. Great views at the end. It starts as a descent and the climb back up may be challenging. Overall I would rate this trail a 4/10 (easy 0 and tough 10). Not too bushy and can wear tennis shoes (no hiking gear required). I would suggest a backpack with water and snacks.
