Getting There

A nice dog-friendly and family-friendly trail for hiking, running, and biking Little Beaver is no joke when it comes to difficulty. This trail, Laurel Creek, offers a variety of difficulty. You will first go over a rocky area before you cross paths with Laurel Creek. Deer can be seen as well as squirrels.

Bring water and helmet if biking. Watch for deer and squirrel as well as many other wild life. You can fish or even paddle boat if you like. Great place to have a picnic.

Off of I-77, take I-64 East towards the Grandview exit. Exit 129A. From then on just stay on that road and the park will be on the left once you go down a hill. There are some sharp turns so drive slow.

Easy trail. Well marked. Mixed forest. Lots of rhododendron, ferns, moss and evergreens.

Fun trail with a variety of surface areas. There are rocky areas to clamber over, muddy stream beds to navigate, a spot where there's no visible trail ( which makes AllTrails invaluable), and long stretches of easy walking. There are lots of deer and I saw a pair of large owls. Much of the trail is just a few feet off a paved road, which is helpful when you run out of time.
