this was a real challenge! Very rich in history and what remains of it is worth the truck. alot extra time for the climb back up.

Don't underestimate this trail, it will kick your butt on the way back up. 821 stairs is no joke.

Deserves the difficult rating. I scoffed a bit before we started the hike and even on our initial decent. Don’t be fooled. The real hike doesn’t start till you reach the bottom ;-)

Super cool trail. Lots of historical mining buildings and infrastructure. There are also climbing routes in the area.

Very enjoyable trail. Love the history of the mine and community. Is a bit of workout on the way back up but definitely worth it.

This one is steep, both on the trail and the stairs. Waterfall is very close to the beginning, but only a trickle when I was there. Still pretty, but not destination worthy. The highlight is definitely the mine at the end of the descent. The mine is technically off limits and fenced off, but some good citizen(s) created a hole in the fence and made it easy to climb down inside.

Very strenuous hike but the historic sites along the way are worth it. Don’t do this hike if you hate stairs.

We were told there was an old mining town at the bottom. A long hike and 800 steps later and it’s fenced off. Lots of work for disappointment.

Beautiful fall day, beautiful trail but challenging!!! Steep down hill!! A lot of steps!!! Take water and take breaks!!! The climb back up is hard! But with it! Never found waterfalls but this time of year water is lower.

Awesome hike! It’s a workout, for sure. A lot of elevation change, but really cool remnants of the mine that’s about a century old at the bottom. It’s closer to 1.6 miles one way, so plan accordingly.

This trail is no joke. The stairs back up are the hardest part. Definitely take a break at Kaymoor Top after the stairs. With it being wet, having a walk stick would have been nice so I used one I found but encourage for others. Couldn’t find the waterfall. Clearer directions would be nice.
