Stop at the ranger station at the trailhead to turn this into a loop instead of an out and back. Spectacular views. One of the overlooks has been cleared and is beautiful. Be prepared for the steep uphill. Water is essential.

This was a tough hike (lots of steep downhill coming down) but my dog and I enjoyed it. I couldn't find either of the marked overlooks (heard they were overgrown) and the trail on the back side of the mountain doesn't have a sign like the others so I wasn't sure about the enterance for a while.
