Just a plain trail. Nothing special about it. It’s a good choice if you’re just going out for exercise.

Overall an enjoyable and well maintained trail. Mostly wooded with some mud in places and small stream crossings. There are some steep grades that add some difficulty.

Spring is coming to WV! The trail was muddy from the past few days of rain but everything is starting to green up!!

This is an easy, kid friendly, hike with multiple activity options nearby. According to the park map the Burr trail plus the extension combined are only 2.3 miles. My distance was longer because I parked at the activity building by the playground and walked to the trailhead and back. One caution. This trail will be very muddy immediately following a rain. We had mild snow melt this past week and parts of the trail were muddy.

A nice trail. Nothing too hard or steep. We hiked it in the fall. We plan to come back in the spring because the trail has several stream crossings but the stream was dry in the fall. We weren’t sure where to park so we parked off the road by the weigh cabin. Not sure we were supposed to do that but nothing happened.

Nice hike, but the Burr Smith Extension Trail is a bit of a waste. There is nothing up on that hill, but if you'd like to break a little sweat go for it! I did this hike after a bit of a dry spell and I did not encounter any mud that wasn't navigable. It would be a pretty hike in the fall or after some rain as it follows several small creeks.

Probably my favorite trail here. Pretty scenery. You’re gonna get wet though.

Very easy and fun trail to stroll through. This area of the park seems to be different from the rest when on the trail. A bit more open in parts of it and all around very enjoyable. There is an extension of the trail that adds .5 miles to it... Nothing too spectacular on it other than making good elevation gain to just immediately drop back to the trail to finish it out. towards the end of it there are is a nice field with Duck Creek flowing next to it with some interesting Geology.

Very fun trail that had some very interesting sights along the way. Moderate inclines and nothing to extreme.
