Great hike at this time of year! We hiked up to Narada Falls and then came back down. Right after Madcap Falls there was a half a mile or so of snow, but it was easily hikeable with standard hiking boots. A pole could be helpful, but isn't necessary. This is the flattest stretch of the hike, so the snow actually made it much better of a hike. I would certainly recommend hiking this trail during this time of year.
