Really-really easy hike. Beautiful views of the bluffs, Hawks, ground critters, and the Columbia River. Little windy up there so make sure you bring a hat and layer up. Wdnt recommend this hike in the summer as there's no shade and it's BAKIN' up there.

Very enjoyable hike. Choose springtime hiking as it gets warm later in the year. Bring plenty of water.

We could not find the White Bluffs South Slope Trail. There is a long gravel road, and then a broken up paved road beyond a road blocker, but along that whole, long distance we did not see a trailhead or a defined trail anywhere. The directions are not clear from the three websites we consulted, and the road signage does not help at all. Finally we took a dangerous, self-determined way up one side to the top and found what looked to be possibly a trail - really it was just a very narrow trampled area that appears to only exist from foot traffic (is not maintained). We wasted about an hour and a half searching for a real trail, and then gave up. We somewhat enjoyed our four attempts at finding a real trail. We are going to try the White Bluffs North Slope Trail, as it appears (from our online research) to actually exist. It's unfortunate there isn't a well defined and maintained trail for the south slope, clearly marked, because the area is beautiful and would be nice to hike, with a real trail, and not trekking through overgrown, rattle-snake-invested, grass.

Windy hike . Wish there were more trail markers but we figured it out . Saw a rattle snake and it's early April so watch out . Really pretty views . Not a very difficult hike though . 8.2 miles out and back

Easy hike along the top and bottom of the bluffs. I started from the north TH and worked my way down along the river and then back along different ridge trails. Great views of the white bluffs. I like hiking the sand dunes that the nearby north slope trail offers but the south slope trail is also great with several trail options to explore.
