The foothill trailhead of the Squak West Access Trail has no parking place on the busy SR900, so to access this "Access Trail", one may start from the trailhead of the Mountain View Road, and return from the foothill trailhead. The trail is rarely used, but remains in very good condition and renders a pleasant environment if the traffic noise on the busy road is not taken into account. It is wide and gently grading, with two footbridges across a couple of ravines. From the opening, one may view the contour of the Cougar Mountain on the other side of the SR900.
