I rate this hike a 4 because of the views once up top.
I drove my Subaru Impreza and almost didn’t make it back. I had to park it a mile away from the parking lot and had to hike up to it, I would recommend a high clearance vehicle.
Overall the hike wasn’t too bad and there was no one up there the views were incredible from up top.

Good hike overall and I would recommend checking it out. It is longer this route than anticipated with total hike of 10 to 11 miles and about 2800 vertical. The extra distance was due to the fact that you have to park lower to access the trail. The road up the last bit was pretty much impossible even with 4x4 as with a large section of the road washed out and several large trenches. I agree with the review by Cooper, as the featured map was not the route I took. The alternative route is the south route. That being said.... there are tons of wildflowers out right now and it is quite pretty. There's a good view overlooking Leavenworth also. The last part has a mild to moderate scramble and requires a little bit of Route finding. People have set up Cairns but don't rely on them fully as a couple are misleading, especially on the way down. The top gives a good view of Icicle Creek and part of the enchantments but was unable to see snowy Lakes. Overall the hike was worth it and offered some good views.

As of September 2017, The route that is featured on the map for this hike is incorrect. The route posted by Monica Lough is the correct one, and is accessed from Mountain Home Ranch Rd. The incorrect route shown on the map is accessed from Ingalls Creek road and in our opinion should be avoided. The trail is actually a dirt forest service road and a gate blocks access to the first few miles requiring even more walking along the road than is shown on the map. Suggest doing a little research before heading out for the trailhead to make sure you can find the trailhead shown on Monica Lough’s map.

Good vertical gain. The view of the lakes from the top is beautiful. Not too many bugs and pleasant temps in late May.

Once you turn off Blewett Pass onto the dirt road, be aware that it will take about an hour and you will need a 4x4 vehicle with clearance. The hike to the saddle of Wedge Mountain is fairly steep, gaining about 2600 ft in 2.5 miles. Most people stop at the saddle to enjoy the view overlooking Snow Lakes, Nada Lake, and the Enchantments. If you're feeling more adventurous, head left to Wedge Mountain peak. There is no defined trail to the peak but finding a route is easy. Travel over two false peaks, the third is the actual Wedge Peak. There is a rock scramble to reach the top. Not recommended for the faint of heart. This is a great hike that's not well known and not on most maps.
