Wallace Falls is set of nine different cataracts in all which are well worth the hike up. The hike is short enough for a day time picnic outing. Be prepared to get a little exercise as it is a 1200 foot elevation gain up to the falls. On the trail, you'll find many examples of Cascade regional flora and fauna as well as some old growth forest. The trailhead is easy to find with public bathrooms and drinking water available. The path and well marked with bridges and nicely railed vista platforms to view the falls. There is also a covered picnic area when you reach the bottom falls. It is recommended to only take kids that are over 4 years old or very athletic. A lot of people stop at the picnic area to turn around and go back. However, if you hike the next mile, you'll get to see all of the upper falls which are quite beautiful. This trail is very popular and you will encounter others along the way. Discovery Pass is available to purchase at the visitor booth at the entrance to the trail ($30). This is required.

Was a great hike! The background of the falls and river are so therapeutic throughout the hike. A little muddy throughout and can be steep on certain aspects of hike but there are lots of stops along the way to take a rest if necessary.

Three stops for the falls (upper, middle, lower) trust me the upper is worth the trek! Probably bring some poles though for the steep parts

This trail is a beautiful hike. We made it all the way up to the upper Falls. Was muddy in a few spots, but very well maintained. Lots of built in wood steps and switch backs. You have a beautiful view the entire hike and the water falls are just majestic.

We reached around 10:30 am and no parking spots were available. We had to do street parking about 0.5 mile away from trail head. The hike was pretty good with water noise in the background. The best view is at valley overlook which is after middle falls on the trail.

It's a gorgeous hike, crowded but worth it. It was my first in a long time and my legs burned a few times... especially getting to upper falls. The views a crazy good though.

Great trail with wonderful views although very busy with lots of people. Lots of dogs. We walked with 3 kids 15, 12, and 9 and it took about 90 min to the top and 60 min back.

Great trail. Views are worth it at the middle falls but less great at the very top for photos. Valley look out is incredible. Gain a lot of elevation over the final mile. Parking is really tough, go early. Crowded. It worth it. Great park entrance area/welcome center. Highly recommend.

Trail is very well maintained. It was a beautiful hike with many Lookout spots to see the waterfall. We arrived at 8:30am and there were plenty of parking spots. On our way out around noon, parking was full and many cars were parked about a mile away so it's a good idea to come early to beat the crowd. Overall we really enjoyed this hike and the views were beautiful.

Very beautiful hike!! There were a lot of people by the time we got there (around 10:30am). Hiking to the very top is definitely worth it and I recommend it for sure. So much fun!

Great hike! I went on a Monday (3/18) and arrived around 10:30a. Plenty of parking was available. The trails are great, no snow at all and the falls and mountains were in full view. I got back around 1:40p and still plenty of parking. If you’re able to, I suggest going during the week days to avoid the crowds.

Arrive early or be prepared to park far and have to hike 15mins to the trail head. Semi out of shape and this moderate trail was pretty challenging at some points to the mid point falls. Tons of people and dogs probably passed about 100 people, on a sunny Sunday between 10:30am and 1:30pm. Tons of lunch spot look outs. There is one bathroom a little more then half way but it's a trail out of the way the way of the falls up a pretty steep switchbacks. Our just shy of one year old French bulldog did great up and back. Great hike and trail, well maintained

Great views. There was still some snow between middle and upper falls.

Made the rookie mistake of arriving around 12pm on Seattle’s first beautiful Sunday of the season. The parking lot was a zoo - had to park about 0.5 miles away. The trail was heavily trafficked - lots of kids, dogs, and large groups. Overall the hike really is in excellent condition and extremely scenic. Just make sure to arrive early or else you’ll catch the madness.

Arrived at 11am to a full parking lot and had to park 0.4 miles down the road. Trail starts flat and eventually takes you on a steady and fairly steep incline through stunning rainforest to each waterfall.
Totally snow free until after the middle fall - then it gets quite slippery. No need for spikes but do be careful.
Take plenty of water and snacks - maybe lunch too. We took 5 hours to go the whole way to the furthest fall. Worth it.

Arrived around 11:30a to a fairly empty parking lot. There is still snow in the area but the trail itself was completely snow free to Mid Falls. There are some slippery/muddy spots from snowmelt, no big deal unless you are bringing your pup, in which case you may want to have some towels or rags for the ride home :) Well-maintained trail except for some rogue dog poo here and there... please bring dog bags and clean up after your furry buddies! We got pretty warm on the way up, but it got chilly in the shade on the way down and were glad to have packed an extra layer in our packs. Definitely pack a sandwich or a snack to enjoy at the picnic area at Lower Falls, a nice little stop before continuing up. All in all, the falls were booming, weather was gorgeous, and it was a great afternoon!

Feels good to get outside! 2/26 beautiful and sunny. Gets slick on an incline before the lower falls. I used my yak tracks when needed. Went to middle falls/skyline and little bit more snow on the trail to get up there too. But beautiful and nice otherwise.

Great Sunday am hike. recommend micro spikes and poles for mid to upper hike.

Beautiful hike. One of my favorites close to Seattle. With the snow we had recently, I would STRONGLY recommend spikes, at the least poles. The packed down snow is quite slick.

I went on February 2nd when it was still 50° out. It was really pretty. The sun came out right after I reached the end/upper falls and remained out on the way down. I really enjoyed it.

Beautiful waterfall hike. ♡ Mud was expected but not bad at all. There is a shop at the park entrance with a few little items for purchase. 4 stars because it can get crowded on weekends and that makes for very limited parking. That said, we will be back.

Hiked this on January 19th. The hike itself leads to Small Falls, and Wallace Falls. As the name implies, Small Falls is very small. Go there, get a few pictures, you’re done. Continue to the Lower Falls for some decent shots just to look up and see the main fall. Continue to the Middle Falls and this is where 90% of the photos were taken. The Upper Falls wasn’t worth going to for me personally, as it seems you mostly just look down the waterfall from that viewpoint. Overall a great day hike, and easy for dogs (we saw a ton and loved every second of it).

Well maintained beautiful trail. Was quite popular this Sunday but everyone we passed was friendly and accommodating. We only made it to the Middle falls because my 7 year old simply wasn't up for the climb to the upper falls. Still great views.

got to the trail head at 830. there was light rain but not much. the trail was in great shape. a few muddy spots but nothing that couldn't be worked around or walked through.

the falls were all especially strong today. the lower falls are great with a view of the middle falls in the distance.

the middle views are what you come for.

the trail to the upper falls is more difficult than the rest but nothing more than difficult moderate. the upper falls are great as well.

the valley overlook is also stunning.

Weather on the trail was perfect, no need for poles or yaktracks. The trail is super wore down and good for a person looking for a stroll or a family. The upper falls is worth the extra ~1 mi to the top. Also we started our hike at 8:30am and was completely alone most of the time, trail didn't start to get heavy with people until around 10:00.

Such a gorgeous trail all through. One can hear the sound of river pretty much from the entire trail. the views of water gushing on the rocks and the waterfalls are to unbelievable! Middle falls are the most pretty but lower falls are quite a beauty too. Upper falls has a much steeper climb but not the views as impressive as middle or lower. Also if you go to upper falls, the total trail length is 5.5 miles. I think the 4.4 miles mentioned in the description is only till middle falls. But Valley overlook point is beautiful, after middle falls and before upper. The trail condition is very good. Various bridges, stairs and paved paths all through the trail. Hiking poles were such a savior. the climb is steep on this trail, so if you can take the poles, please do!
