This is an OHV park. Yes, you can walk there, but if you are hiking for the views and scenery, you may want to go somewhere else. Great place for built 4x4. There is staging area, bathrooms, Discovery Pass Required. There are couple gates with rocks on the side which is used to check if your vehicle is good to go. If you make it around gates then you should be alright. Some Trails can get tough, but others are fine.

I love this place. I take my Jeep out and bounce around on all the trails. The wardens are the trickiest part. I drive a 2017 2dr Wrangler JK winter edition. I have a 3” lift and 35s but all the rest is stock. Not gonna lie... I pop at least one of my fenders off every time I go. All in good fun. The trails range from super easy to pretty difficult. But there are lots of trail to try. I’d recommend reading up on which are suitable for your rig and experience before going out there. But definitely do it! It’s a blast!!

My group drove 33 miles of roads and trails. January 1st 2020 was a rainy day. Was a lot of fun and highly recommended. Just watch out for other vehicle and if the trail says no Jeeps, it’s probably cause u won’t fit. Figured that one out a few times following my friend.

Gates make the trails inaccessible unless you’re in a jeep. Wouldn’t risk going around it with my ZR2. The warden laughed at us for trying. Such a tease.

put three simply as warning for others. my '96 ZJ on 31's and 3inch lift was a very tight fit where I went in and the other gate that I did not enter was barely enough clearance..Ended up smacking the gate pole a bit on the way out of the narrow entry gate. probably should have gone the wider trail but my tread depth wasn't great up front and it didn't want to get over the gate rocks too well. was out solo so thought better of it..really nice trails though. helps to have a spotter for some stuff (especially the gate lol). I ended up at the narrow gate best suited for a wrangler. was rubbing my front bumper the whole way through and made it in within 2 inches of the pole. coming out was a tighter approach and dinged the Jeep a bit onthe right rear above the tire. trails were awesome though! not quite as bad as the gate lol. I'd say moderate to difficult.

Nice fall views from the southern slope. Only Jeeps can pass the gates.

Also be prepared to get scratchs and or dents, I would rate this medium to high for levels. And like someone else said, dont know why it says hiking , its a orv park. I wish i had pics still on phone but dont, love this place in fall or spring, wet and muddy.

Hiking

This is actually not a hiking trail at all as the post suggests. Rather it is an OHV park. Yes you can hike it which I did since I ride dirtbikes and wanted to scout it out since I was already there, but if your hiking for the views and scenery, go somewhere else.

We drove here interested in some 4x4 Jeep trails after reading elsewhere that those could be found here. Unfortunately all offsets from the main road are gated off and the main road is VERY easy riding. Lots of dirt bike and ATV trails to be explored, but nothing for a Jeep.

Normally a good place to learn 4x4 driving- HOWEVER as of June 20, 2015 the jeep trails are closed for logging. They don't have an estimated reopening posted... found this out the hard way after driving there this weekend...

Hiking

Since this is primarily an ORV trail, I do not recommend it for hiking on the weekends or holidays. However, during the week it is fine. Two dirt bike riders arrived as we did, but we never saw or even heard them again until we were almost back to the trail head. We ran into one other hiker with her dog. She said they come out all the time and seldom see anyone. There are many interconnecting trails weaving through an awesome forest area so you can do as much or as little as you want.

spent two hours trying to find the hiking trailhead. the ORV dominates this. found mountain biking trails, again nothing for just hiking.

First to Review

The previous review is lacking a bit.Walker Valley is actually a state ORV park which means it's mostly motorized use but Mtn. bikes are more than welcome. There is actually well over 30mi. of some of the most awesome trails in Wa. state.
