This route connects the Royal Basin Trail with the Upper Maynard Burn Trail which takes you up the south side of Mt. Baldy.

This is one steep trail. About a 35% grade. It will connect you to an old abandoned forest service road #2860 I think. Continuing left up the overgrown road will take you to the Upper Maynard Burn Way Trail which will then go up the south face of Mt. Baldy. Bring water as you will climb 3818 ft in 3.5 miles and there is no water the entire route.
