The lake is pretty and I like the bridge better. We went off trail and got closer to the river.

This is one of the prettiest little trails I've been on, and the reward at Trout Lake is well worth the effort. The guide (as well as the info at the trailhead) says it's 1and 1/2 miles, but my GPS said 1.7 miles, so who you gonna believe?

A perfect morning hike. Fall colors, misty mountains, easy trail.

Beautiful hike to a pretty lake. Did this with our two small kids (4 and 2), carried the toddler but the four year old had a blast and hiked most of it. Fun bridge to cross and pretty waterfall on a mountainside.
