Great hike and summit. The trail along the PCT is in great quality. The “trail” to the summit branches off of the PCT in a grassy/sandy slope. It appears that there are a number of game trails, and it is about 3.5 miles from the parking lot. The summiting trail is not well marked, and requires steady footing. When you turn off the PCT, the ascent is very steep, along a slope with very lose sand/rocks. This section goes on for about a quarter mile. Once you’ve climbed to the saddle of the ridge, turn left and climb through some shrubs and up some rock faces. Upon clearing the shrubs, and some boulders, you will come upon a clearing of lose sand/rocks for about .2 miles. This section is not as steep as the rest of the hike, and is very doable. The last section to the summit is a short climb up some rock faces. The summit is very high and steep on all sides giving you impressive views of surrounding areas.
