Getting There

Parking lot is small, Best to get there early. Bonuses, No parking pass is required. & there’s a bathroom at Trailhead.

I would not do this trail on a hot day because of the open exposure to the sun. It can be very windy by the wall, so plan accordingly. There are rattlesnake, so stay on trails.

This trail is currently Closed due to Covid-19. Parking lot is small so it's best to get there early. No parking pass is required. Bathroom at Trailhead.

Beautiful hike with incredible views! Very windy along the wall. A bit of snow and mud in some parts but easy to navigate through.

Completed on a rainy/muddy day. Gorgeous views. I look forward to doing this again in the summer when the mud is dried up!

The trail was super muddy after an overnight freeze and thawing in the morning sun. It’s less muddy on the Coyote Wall side. Lots of bikers. Don’t mind my recorded track. I forgot to turn it off when we got back to the car.

Trail was in good shape, Rocky either way, but not a problem. I really enjoyed hiking through the fog at the beginning and watch it burn off as we came down along the wall.

Nice views the whole hike. It was hard to keep track of the trail though. There were a lot of people there-way too many for my taste. There were a lot of mountain bikers!

HikingGreat!

Loved it. Especially once you get off toward the east on the old ranch road toward Labyrinth! Very rocky, wear shoes with ample tread. Small Oak stands are magical! Bring a Picknick and find a less windy spot in the grass for a Picknick and cloud gazing!

Great trail, the hike to the highest point is pretty tough but the views are worth it. Little rocky on the way down I went.

HikingGreat!

neat hike. some people at the start of the trail suggested I do clockwise to avoid some slippery rock on the way down counterclockwise. I didn't think that was a benefit after I saw the other side. both are fine and not slippery from loose rock. clockwise was nice because you peak faster and enjoy the oak and pine on top. I extended the loop by hiking higher then crossing through an oak forest to reconnect with the trail and "upper labyrinth" . make sure you have plenty of battery to know where you're going with this map and still take photos. temperature was about 80 degrees today, but the nice strong breeze kept things in check. didn't notice any rattlesnakes. saw a couple of squirrels, many grasshoppers, lizards, birds of different kinds.

I’ve never hiked in such direct sunlight and I really struggled with the heat. It was a very difficult climb and I thought about turning back after the first viewport, I’m glad I didn’t. Stunning views but if I didn’t this one again, I’d go in the spring when it’s not so hot. The app doesn’t explain the trail well, you want to go counter clockwise and end going down wall, going up the wall would be nuts.

Watch out for rattlesnakes. We did this as an evening hike to see the Neowise comet and we saw 3 in the trail on our hike back to the car. There was also a lot of poison oak along the trail.

Some shady spots along the way along with a good breeze on the back half. Loose rocks made the descent a little tricky at times, but overall great scenery of gorge and mount hood
